GreekLifeEduCommunityEdu

All Phi Gamma Delta members are expected to complete CommunityEdu.

CommunityEdu is an online program that addresses the critical issues of alcohol awareness, sexual assault and hazing for incoming fraternity and sorority members. By leveraging trends and incorporating multiple evidence-based learning theories, CommunityEdu achieves behavior change objectives and helps members practice safer decision-making. Throughout this two-part program, students are reminded of their values and strengths, and they are challenged to consider ways to leverage them throughout different interactive scenarios.

Expectations

Brothers are expected to complete this training during the semester they join the Fraternity. It is important brothers take the course as early in their fraternity experience as possible. Part 1 is due 10 days after the learner is enrolled in CommunityEdu, and Part 2 becomes available approximately 30 days after finishing Part 1. (Note: The deadline rolls throughout the semester to accommodate all recruitment schedules.)

Frequently Asked Questions

Can learners complete Part 1 after the two-week due date?

Yes, brothers will have limited access to the course after the due date, but the training is most effective early in the membership experience.

Why are upper classmen enrolled? Do they have to complete the training?

Most likely, upperclassmen were enrolled because they submitted their Brother Initiation Registration Form late, so they were not previously enrolled in CommunityEdu. They are expected to participate in this programming, like all Phi Gam brothers.

What is Part 2? Can it be available before 30 days?

CommunityEdu Part 2 is an impact survey meant to gauge a brother’s key takeaways, so it cannot be made available earlier than 30 days. It has a one-week due date.
