2026 William A. Martin III Distinguished Fiji Award Winners
Phi Gamma Delta has named the 2026 William A. Martin Distinguished Fiji Award winners (pictured L-R, from top to bottom row): Erwin Aulis (Northwestern 1980), Ken Carson (Oklahoma 1980), Anthony Marguleas (California Riverside 1989), Clark Robertson (Nebraska 1982) and Ted Schlein (Pennsylvania 1986).
The Distinguished Fiji Award, established in 1965, is presented annually to no more than six graduate brothers who deserve recognition for their faithful and unselfish service to Phi Gamma Delta or their special contribution to mankind and society at large. The award was renamed in honor of William A. Martin III (Mississippi State 1975) in 2019 upon his retirement as Executive Director.

Erwin K. Aulis (Northwestern 1980)
Brother Aulis retired from an over 30-year career in the real estate investment industry in 2017. Most recently, Erwin served as Chief Operating Officer of Northwood Investors, a New York and Denver based real estate investment company with assets of $6.5 billion. Outside of his career, Erwin is very involved in his community having served on the Kellogg School of Management’s Real Estate Advisory Board Executive Committee and Sacred Heart Schools’ Board of Trustees & Finance Committee. Additionally, he has been actively involved with the Phi Chapter, serving as BCA Chairman since 2017.
Kenneth R. “Ken” Carson, USAF (Ret.) (Oklahoma 1980)
Brother Carson has held an over 40-year career in aviation. He served the U.S. Air Force for 22 years, earning the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, five Meritorious Service Medals and Colonel rank. Following his military retirement in 2005, Ken served the University of Oklahoma (UO) as Director of the Aviation Program, where he served as the program’s FAA Airman Certification Official, taught classes, and mentored thousands of pilots, air traffic controllers and aviation management professionals. He has served on the Aviation Accreditation Board International’s (AABI) Board of Trustees for 15 years. Ken has also received AABI’s 2018 Educator of the Year Award and 2026 Aviation Professional Excellence Award. Outside of his career, Ken has served the Nu Omega Chapter in various roles on the BCA, as a Faculty Advisor and as Purple Legionnaire from 2010-14 – during which he was recognized as UO’s most outstanding alumni advisor of the year. Additionally, he served as the principal executor for the Chapter’s Mewbourne Scholarship Fund since its inception in 2013.
Anthony P. Marguleas (California Riverside 1989)
Brother Marguleas is the founder and owner of Amalfi Estates, one of the leading independent real estate companies in California. Since Amalfi’s founding in 1995, Anthony and his team have closed $3 billion in sales and were ranked among the top 10 real estate teams in the nation by The Wall Street Journal. Anthony is also a nationally recognized speaker and expert, who has taught real estate negotiation and contracts at the University of California Los Angeles since 2004. He and his work have been featured in Architectural Digest, Forbes, Robb Report and USA Today. Also, since 2016, Amalfi Estates has donated 10% of all net commissions to nonprofits through its give-back program. Outside his career, Anthony is committed to giving back and engaging with his alma mater, local community and chapter. He founded RELY Safe Rides, a late-night transportation program for the University of California Riverside students. Anthony launched 1Pali.com, a comprehensive hub for displaced residents offering information on insurance, temporary housing and mental health care, during the recent California wildfires. Additionally, he is very involved in the Inland Empire Graduate Chapter, and he played a large role in the Rho Upsilon Chapter’s 50th anniversary Pig Dinner.
Clark A. Robertson (Nebraska 1982)
Brother Robertson has retired from a longtime career as an executive within the industrial real estate and economic development industry, having most recently served as the Chief Operating Officer for the Port of Corpus Christi, Texas. Clark has served the Fraternity in many volunteer roles. He served three terms on the Archonate, including Archon President (2018-20), Archon Vice President (2016-18) and Archon Councilor (2014-16), as well as a member of the Executive Director Search Committee (2018), Director of Housing (2003-08) and Field Secretary (1982-84). Clark has also served Gamma Kappa at Colorado School of Mines as BCA Chairman and Delta Upsilon at Denver as a member of the BCA and House Corporation. His other volunteer activities include service on the board of directors of Leadership Jacksonville, JAXUSA Partnership and Fraternity & Sorority Political Action Committee (FSPAC).
Theodore E. “Ted” Schlein (Pennsylvania 1986)
Brother Schlein is a partner at Kleiner Perkins and an Executive Chairman and founding partner at Ballistic Ventures. He is also the founding CEO of Fortify Software, a key cybersecurity solution, and he serves on the boards for several companies, including Chegg and IronNet, to name a few. Previously, Ted was Chairman of the National Venture Capital Association. He is also involved with groups such as the Council on Foreign Relations, Independent Task Force on Cybersecurity and CISA Cybersecurity Advisory Committee. Outside of his career, Ted was instrumental in helping the Beta Chapter at Pennsylvania return to campus as well as restoring the chapter house. He also served the Chapter as a keynote speaker for their Pig Dinner. Additionally, Ted serves on the Board of Trustees at the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in economics.
