
Ashley Dye & Matt Gregory Are Named the 2026 Caswell Award Winners
Phi Gamma Delta has named Ashley Dye and Dr. Matt Gregory, PhD as the 2026 Caswell Award winners. The Caswell Award is presented annually to up to two college administrators for their outstanding service to the Fraternity, the Greek system or higher education, and it is named after Dr. James E. Caswell (Southern Methodist 1963), former Archon President and former long-time Vice President of Student Affairs.
Ashley Dye has served as the Director of Fraternity & Sorority Affairs at the University of Illinois (UI) since 2006. In this role, she has worked on a variety of initiatives and programs while serving as the IFC advisor for most of her tenure at UI. Previously, she served as the Director of Greek Life at the University of California Irvine. Ashley is a member of the Pi Beta Phi Women’s Fraternity, where she currently volunteers as a Critical Conversations facilitator and for the Foundation. She also is a former national officer, having served as a member of Pi Beta Phi’s NPC delegation for 10 years. Dr. Matt Gregory has over 25 years of experience in higher education and currently serves Texas Tech University (TTU) as the Dean of Students & Vice Provost for Student Life. In this role, Matt supports the University’s student-facing offices, and he oversees student involvement, Greek life, military & veteran programs, student disability services and student legal services. He also teaches an introduction to women & gender studies course and is a certified Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) instructor at TTU. Previously, Matt was the Associate Dean of Students at Louisiana State University, and he has worked in a variety of higher education areas including housing & residence life, Greek life and student conduct. He earned his PhD in higher education administration from Southern Illinois University (SIU) in 2009, his M.A. in education – counseling & student affairs from Western Kentucky University in 1997, and his B.S. in biological sciences from SIU in 1995.
