After receiving his Diamond Owl celebrating 75 years of membership, Donald G. Fisher (Wabash 1952) wrote a poem about the Fraternity:
Ode on the Fraternity of Phi Gamma Delta
In the Spring of eighteen-forty eight,
Nigh unto two centuries ago,
At Canonsburg, in Penn’s State
On the campus of famed “Jefferson Duo,”
Six students met in Delta Hall One
In Fort Armstrong Dormitory;
Their purpose to discuss the formation
Of a society based on secrecy.
Epsilon Iota at Evansville Receives the Chapter of the Year Award

During the University of Evansville’s 2025 Greek Awards, Epsilon Iota received the Chapter of the Year Award. This award is presented annually to the chapter that best exemplifies the University’s Five Pillars of Excellence in Greek Life: leadership, scholarship, community service & philanthropy, social interaction and lifelong brotherhood. Additionally, Purple Legionnaire Jeremy Buente (2008) earned the Advisor of the Year Award.

Former California Irvine Chapter Presidents Attend Basketball Game

In March, six of Iota Chi’s former Chapter Presidents attended the National Invitational Tournament second round basketball game, where UC Irvine defeated Jacksonville State University to move on to the quarterfinals.

James Madison Participated in Several Philanthropies in 2024-25

Throughout the 2024-25 academic year, Mu Chi at James Madison hosted several philanthropy events for Camp Kesem. Brothers also participated in and won Alpha Delta Pi Sorority’s Lion Bowl philanthropy football tournament in November 2024.

Alpha Omicron at Akron Wins Multiple Greek Leadership Awards

During the University of Akron’s 2025 Greek Leadership Awards, Alpha Omicron received several awards including the IFC Chapter of the Year Dean’s Cup, the highest honor a fraternity can receive, the IFC New Member Excellence award and the Service Commitment award, to name a few. These awards are a testament to the hard work and dedication brothers have put in over the past year.

William & Mary Hosts Graduate Affiliation Ceremony for Former Purple Legionnaire

Rho Tau at William & Mary held a graduate affiliation ceremony for their former Purple Legionnaire Thomas Rideout (Washington & Lee 1963) (right) before their Pig Dinner in March. Tom stepped down from this role last fall after the Chapter’s 6th chartering anniversary.
Tampa Brothers Participates in Greek Week Supporting Make A Wish SW Florida

The Tau Beta Chapter partnered with the Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority for Tampa’s 2025 Greek Week competition. The Chapter’s team raised over $61,000 for Make A Wish South Florida, setting a new school fundraising record and helping their team win this year’s Greek Week.

Orientation Leaders are one of the highest honors a UGA student can receive as the group works tirelessly throughout the summer to welcome the entire freshmen class and their families to campus.
