Volunteer Spotlight: Scott Gilliland (North Alabama 1993)

Scott Gilliland (North Alabama 1993) was appointed Section Leader of the Theta at Alabama, Alpha Beta at Alabama Birmingham, Sigma Mu at Mississippi State and Mu Psi at Samford chapters in April 2025. As a Section Leader, it is Scott’s goal to develop and maintain an active BCA for each chapter he advises and to exemplify “Not for College Days Alone.” Since his appointment, he has earned a PhiredUp Recruiter Certificate, appointed a new Purple Legionnaire for the Alabama Birmingham Chapter, participated in Samford’s chartering and recruited graduate brothers to serves as chapter advisors.
Fall 2025 Expansion: University of Utah

This fall, Phi Gamma Delta reestablished the Sigma Lambda Provisional Chapter at Utah with 49 Founding Fathers. During the semester, the Provisional Chapter partnered with the student-run FeedU Food Pantry to host a joint service and recruitment event, the first of its kind on campus.

Phi Gamma Delta reestablished the Lambda Nu Provisional Chapter at Nebraska with 16 Founding Fathers.
Fall 2025 Expansion: University of Dayton

During the fall 2025 semester, Phi Gamma Delta established the new Provisional Chapter at Dayton with 41 Founding Fathers. Recruitment of the Provisional Chapter garnered more members than the rest of the IFC combined, making it the University’s most successful expansion project to date.
Graduate Brothers Meet for the Xi Graduate Chapter’s Annual Pig Dinner

On November 15, the Xi (New York City, NY) Graduate Chapter hosted their Pig Dinner in Manhattan with 32 brothers representing 16 chapters in attendance. During the event, Gregg Streibig (Maryland 1991) was awarded Brother of the Year for his stalwart support, involvement and camaraderie.
Ron Pearson (1954) Receives Diamond Owl During Knox’s Pig Dinner

On October 11, during Gamma Deuteron at Knox’s Pig Dinner and Homecoming, Ron Pearson (1954) was presented with his Diamond Owl, celebrating 75 years of membership. As the oldest brother in attendance, Rob was also honored to kiss the snout of the Chapter’s new gold pig.
Minnesota Graduate Brothers Gather for the 2025 Homecoming

In October, Mu Sigma graduate brothers gathered in Minneapolis for Minnesota’s Homecoming weekend. While in town, brothers visited the chapter house, the McNamara Alumni Center – named after Richard “Pinky” McNamara (1956), and the football stadium for the Minnesota vs. Purdue game.

Joe Ferrari (Chicago 1953) received his Diamond Owl certificate, recognizing 75 years of membership. Joe was so pleased to receive his Diamond Owl that he asked his daughter, Lisa, to take his picture even though he doesn’t like having his picture taken.
California Irvine Graduates Meet for 4th Annual Reunion

On September 25-28, Iota Chi at California Irvine brothers from the classes of 1988-95 gathered for their 4th Annual Palm Springs Reunion. Many of the brothers in attendance helped launch Iota Chi’s new scholarship fund through generous contributions.
Iowa State Welcomes 45 Brothers & Recognizes Max Miller for His Dedication to Service

This semester, Alpha Iota at Iowa State initiated 45 brothers (pictured), bringing the Chapter’s total membership to 130 brothers. As of the end of last semester, the Chapter has a cumulative 3.26 GPA.
The Chapter also would like to recognize Max Miller (2027) for exemplifying the Fraternity’s value of service through his involvement in the Iowa State Dance Marathon. Max has already raised over $1,000, working toward his goal of raising $3,500.
