Volunteer Spotlight: Jesse Cook (California Irvine 2009)

Jesse Cook (California Irvine 2009) (pictured second from left) has served the Iota Chi Chapter at California Irvine as Purple Legionnaire (PL) since February 6, 2025, and BCA Chairman since March 26, 2025. As PL, Jesse’s first goal was to relaunch the Chapter’s BCA in partnership with Section Leader Peter Whittet (Western Michigan 1977). Within a few weeks, eight graduate brothers volunteered to serve in various positions on the BCA. Jesse’s next goal was to help graduate brothers reconnect and engage with the undergraduate chapter outside of Pig Dinner.

Dustin Burkett (2018) was named the University of Kentucky Department of Civil Engineering’s 2026 Young Civil Engineer of the Year. The award recognizing outstanding achievement, leadership and service in a civil engineering career.
David Ratterman (Kentucky 1968) Was Inducted into UK’s Hall of Distinguished Alumni

David Ratterman (1968) was inducted into the University of Kentucky’s (UK) Hall of Distinguished Alumni. David was recognized for building a global career in construction law, representing the structural steel industry from his offices in Louisville, Kentucky.
Spring 2026 Expansion: Sacred Heart University

Phi Gamma Delta established a new Provisional Chapter at Sacred Heart, in Fairfield, CT, with 40 Founding Fathers. Brothers have a 3.34 cumulative GPA, and they are involved in intramural sports, Student Government, Residential Life and performing arts, to name a few.

Mitch Daniels (Purdue Faculty) Named Purdue University Interim President

On May 25, Mitch Daniels (Purdue Faculty, Allegheny Affiliate) was appointed as the Interim President of Purdue University, effective July 1. Mitch previously served the University as President from 2013-22.
Jacob Heath Joins Staff As Assisstant Director of Chapter Services

Jacob Heath (Montevallo 2023) joined staff to assume one of the new Assisstant Director of Chapter Services roles. Previously, he served as a Coordinator for Fraternity & Sorority Life at the University of Alabama Birmingham since 2024. Jacob earned his B.S. in communication studies with a minor in psychology from Montevallo in 2023. Additionally, he served the Mu Pi Chapter as President (2020-21) and as a BCA member (2023-26).
Cole Stephen Named Assistant Director of Chapter Services

Cole Stephen (DePauw 2025) assumed one of the Assistant Director of Chapter Services positions, having previously served the Fraternity as Field Secretary since June 2025. Before joining staff, Cole earned his B.A. in communications with a writing minor from DePauw University in 2025. As an undergraduate, he served the Lambda Chapter as President, Corresponding Secretary and Historian, and he was a member of the Alpha Psi Omega Theatrical Society.
Apryl Taylor Joins Staff As Donor Services & Operations Coordinator

Apryl Taylor has joined the Phi Gamma Delta Educational Foundation’s staff as the new Donor Services & Operations Coordinator. In this new position, Apryl’s primary responsibilities include managing donor records and gifts; overseeing acknowledgment and stewardship communications; coordinating scholarship administration; and supporting the Foundation’s daily operational needs.
